Symptoms
After you upgrade to Report Commander 2.3, the Project Editor may fail when you try to open a settings panel such as a file output, or when you open a text edit window. It produces the following error:
Report Commander Project Editor has encountered a problem. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Illegal characters in path.
Cause
This happens if you have a path or file name that contains a variable token. When Report Commander tries to parse the path to resolve another variable value, the error occurs.
